Many methods can be used to enhance your hook baits effects and productivity. The carp ability to learn is beyond doubt, otherwise they would simply be as easy to catch as they are when virgin fish which have never been fished for. One of the easiest ways to change your bait to get an extra edge over wary fish is to use a liquid bait soak consisting of flavours, oils or amino acids.

You can make homemade dips using many house-hold food items including oils and juices from tinned fruits and canned fish. Pastes and pastes are very under-used items and mix with various liquids to make effective nutritional cheap dips. It is cheaper to make homemade boilies but steam them instead of boiling them for better catches!

Paste or dough is great used as a coating around all kinds of other hook baits. With paste you know there is no barrier from boiled protein as with conventional boilies that prevent most of your baits attraction from reaching the fish to stimulate them into feeding! Among the items around the kitchen to use are tinned salmon, tuna, herring, mackerel, anchovies and pilchards which can all be made into paste with added eggs and wheat flour to bind; it’s simple but works!

If you use readymade baits like boilies and pellets or even prepared particle baits like nuts or seeds or tinned meats, you will get more takes by altering the surface coating. Make it irregular shaped as if other fish have already been chewing at the bait. This helps release the baits intrinsic attractive substances too. Another trick when using boilies is to poke them with a knife point or baiting needle to go deep inside the bait to release attraction - it really works and changes the bait surface into a very unusual and irregular texture too with all its advantages!

Try coating your baits with a dough or paste. This does not have to correspond to the hook bait you use at all; it could be you use a red fish meal boilie coated with a yellow bird food paste mix. Or tiger nut coated in shrimp paste, or luncheon meat coated with aniseed flavoured ground bait based paste.

You might like to try using paste around buoyant baits like pop-ups. Your hook bait and paste covering do not need to be like each other to produce great catches; in fact far from it! The method of coating a pop-up bait with a very different dough is a huge edge and is very well recommended!

You can add cork granules and other very light or buoyant ingredients to make it float or hang in the water off the bottom or silt or weed for instance. Imagine the advantage of using a buoyant paste around a bottom bait or semi-buoyant bait and how frequently your fish will have had to deal with this! Using buoyant paste around bottom sinking hook baits can seriously save you blank sessions!

It is beyond question that carp and many other fish learn through experience and repetition not least in regards being hooked on any particular bait or rig. Obviously the greatest edge is to make sure your baits represent as little association with any previous encounter as possible; and even instil confident feeding. Fish certainly remember far longer than just seconds or individual fish would always be easy to catch every time, so do yourself a favour and look further into how to make your baits different; and reap the huge rewards - this fishing bait secrets ebooks author has many more fishing and bait edges; just one could impact very significantly on your catches!

For thousands of bass fishing enthusiasts the thrill of discovering a great location for catching fish can almost equal the thrill of catching one. If you are new to bass fishing or if you are planning to fish in a new location, you will find more success with this simple plan to find the best fishing wherever you go!

STEP ONE:

Study the lake. Irrespective of the fact that you are going to participate in a competition or just spend the day fishing a little research in finding the correct spot will be of great help to you.

Maps of the area can give you a good start. You may also find information about your location in magazines or websites dedicated to bass fishing. The more you know about the area the better you can plan your day and (hopefully) make the best catches.

STEP 2:

Speak to a fisher experienced in the area. Finding someone who knows the lake to help you on your first day will provide the best support and guidance for the greatest techniques and locations to use in that secluded body of water.

A knowledgeable guide will be able to guide you about seasons and fishing cycles which may affect your fishing.

Don’t think that you shouldn’t use a guide simply because you’re an accomplished bass fisher in your own right. Guides who are familiar with the local area can improve your chances for success immensely. However, if you cannot find a guide you can still find good information from local fishing equipment supply stores - although they may be giving the same information to other out-of-town fishers who may crowd the same spots.

If you are preparing for a tournament you will want to have unbiased information lest the guide be in competition with you. Doing your own research and testing the lake before competition is still very important.

STEP 3:

Try to know where you should look. Know about your ‘prey’ and this will help you to spot the best fishing areas in spite of the fact you are familiar with the water or not.

As bass always stay in covers and not in open water you have to look for them near rocks, trees or other covers.

Weather, mating seasons, and feeding times can also play into where the fish may be found. Learning about these habits will help your selection and tactics immensely.

STEP FOUR:

While research, a guide and an understanding of the habits of bass will all help you locate your fish, you should still remain adaptable. Changing lures, weights and areas frequently if the fish are not biting will provide you with hands on research that will build with your experience.

Remember that fish will not always be in the same place every time, so remain persevering and enjoy the hunt!

The United States, Australia and Canada have Bass fishing as their favorite sport. Many competitions are conducted all through the year and thus bass fishing has become a very profitable industry.

Even though bass fish can be consumed but sport anglers do not use them as food. During competition these bass fish are trapped, weighted and then liberated back into the water. If the bass are frazzled, then they are held back for treatment and immediately after they are released back into the water.

There are several ways to become a great professional bass fisher. The primary thing you must know is the biological and behavioral aspects of the bass that you are fishing. Knowing how they act in certain environments and temperatures will greatly affect your production.

An example would be to know that bass are sleepy and slow in exceptionally hot or cold waters and that they do not put up much of a struggle when they are hooked. In contrast, however, they eat and thrive at a rapid rate in moderate waters and will fight to the death when caught.

Bass also favor covered areas and normally feed on smaller fish. This will provide you with some planning as to where to look and also how to attract bass fish when fishing.

Apart from gathering knowledge of bass fish you are required to recognize and make the most of your fishing gears. The kind of gats, spins, lines and baits which you use will count on the kind of bass fish you are anticipating to catch. You surely will not want your fishing gears to fail you exactly when a fish bites.

In a fishing contest, you rarely stay in the same place for a long time. When you do not get good result in one area you will have to change your spot fast to pick up your catch. Your capability to read a fishing chart rapidly and precisely will assist in your possibility of locating a good fishing site.

A piece of advice to take would be to visit a supply store near the actual location of the competition. You can talk to the store owners and learn useful information about hot fishing spots.

Whether you fish for fun or a profession, it is crucial to increase your knowledge and techniques for your best performance. Speaking with other fishers that have proved successful is a great way to share knowledge and learn tips from the pros.

You can also go online to visit bass fishing forums and make new friends. You will likely meet anglers from around the world which will further broaden your bass fishing knowledge.

By adopting all the above mentioned steps you can make your fishing experience pleasurable and fruitful.

by Dane Masters

One of the very first things you must figure out while planning your trip would be your prerogatives. You must be more detailed with yourself than just saying you want to fish. This may mean several different things to everyone embarking on the trip.

One person might be happy with catching 20 fish per day, while another might be expecting 30 fish per hour. So, you need to decide this up front.

Let’s take a look at some of the most important things to consider when deciding where to go on your fishing trip.

The type of fish you want to grab?

While this may seem obvious, it is something that needs to be discussed. One person may want to fish for walleye and northern pike, while others may want to go bass fishing. Since many northern lakes have water too cold for bass, you may end up at a lake that would really disappoint the bass fisherman.

Action or Prestige?

Some trollers simply take pleasure in grabbing lots of fish with the hope of acquiring a few big ones. Other fishers give up grabbing a huge quantity of fish for a catch of the largest fish they can find. You have to settle on which is more significant to your fishing group… heaps of fish which are not big or lesser number but a good opportunity of a big one.

It has to be observed that there are not of places where you can do both that is trap lots of fish and get some big ones. But, these are more distant and costly lodges and are not forever possible for many fishing groups.

How will you catch your fish?

Do you prefer streams? Deep water? Or to troll?

We’ve seen people trolling in 60 feet of water thinking the fish were only a few feet from the surface. Not much chance of catching anything this way. Be sure you know the type of fishing your group prefers and that the lake will offer it.

Amount you are ready to spend for the fishing trip?

The cost you are prepared to spend will have a big affect on the kind of fishing trip you take.

Be naturalistic. Plan the amount you actually want to spend? Are you comfy in a camp or roofing paper hut on a lake with big fishing?

Or would you rather stay in a high quality lodge?

Do you want to cook for yourself… or do you want the fishing camp to do the cooking?

And what about shower facilities? Are you willing to use a community shower or do you want a private shower and bath in your own cabin. Gentlemen, if you’re taking your spouse on this trip, make absolutely sure you consider this one! If you don’t, it could spoil an otherwise great trip.

Other things to consider would be how long your trip will be and the kinds of fish you want to hunt. A trip at a fishing lodge with bass and pan fish will be far more affordable than a vacation in Alaska or Canada for arctic char.

So, if you really want a great fishing trip, start by planning just exactly what you want out of the trip and how much you are willing to spend. Do it right and you can have the fishing trip of a lifetime.

As the winter months advance, those who own boats must start to contemplate just how they are going to store their delicate machine, not to mention just how to properly insulate and prepare it for the cold.

If the places where you live have a climate with frigid winters then you must keep your boat away from water for a number of months every year. You have to decide whether to store your craft indoors, or to brave the factors and pack it outside.

If one uses an outboard motor, you can easily take the motor indoors and leave the boat outdoors. This can prove to be an easy problem solver. Unfortunately, it gets more complicated if you are decided to keep your boat outside and it has an inboard engine.

It is perfectly safe to store your boat out of doors during the cold months, even if you experience low temperatures and significant snowfall. However, if temperatures tend to fall in the minus zero range for long periods, it may be difficult to avoid damage.

Sub-zero can harm engines and other parts, which might result in costly repairs. Thus outside boat storage can be adopted by most of us but those who live in extreme climates should find another solution.

Study the manufacturer’s advice on how to properly ready your boat for winter outdoors. If you have any additional concerns, ask the boat dealer you purchased your product from. Make sure that all accessories used for preparation are approved by the manufacturer, because any other products could be seen as a void of your warranty.

Engines may need to be drained or winterized with special oils and coolants. Any sensitive or expensive equipment that can be easily removed from the boat should be stored indoors in a secure location. You will need to cover the boat completely with a durable tarp. Do not buy cheap plastic tarps for this purpose. Go with heavy-duty canvas, and make sure it is large enough to completely cover the boat with coverage on all sides.

When the weather changes then remove all the covers and examine for any damage. Look for any signs of rot or animal infringement, and breaks due to the cold. Fix the damage at the earliest and also before laying the boat back into the water.

If you follow the company’s guidelines for winter storage and make sure it is covered in a quality tarp and constantly check for damages, you will have a beautiful boat in the spring.

For most fishermen, catching Crappie in the Winter is near impossible. Some falsely believe that Crappie can not be caught at all during the colder months. This just isn’t so! Crappie have to feed during the Winter just like they do any other time of year. They’re fish, not Bears. They don’t hibernate!

The nice thing about Winter Crappie is that they tend to hold the same pattern for days, sometimes weeks, on end. Unless of course they’re disturbed by a Winter storm front or days of constant weather changes. Even then, once the weather settles, they generally go right back to their same old patterns.

Day in, day out, Winter Crappie can normally be found hanging around brush in the deeper water of most lakes. This usually includes submerged river and creek channels. Long periods of warm stable weather can cause the Crappie to move shallow. Keep this in mind if the weather has been nice the previous days leading up to your fishing trip.

A good lake or river map showing the bottom details is a must for Winter Crappie fishing. Search for those brushy areas along submerged breaks. Although Crappie normally hold in deep water during the Winter, there are times you can find them shallow. This will usually occur after a few days of warm weather. Crappie are likely to be only a few feet deep over brush or you may find them on the flats relating to structure.

The right tackle will make you or break you for Crappie fishing in the Winter.

Winter Crappie fishing requires you to downsize your tackle. The same tackle you used back in the Summer and Spring will not be as effective in Winter. Light and Ultralight rods in the 6 to 7 foot range, small minnows or 1/32 ounce jigs and four pound test line are the norm. Crappie become sluggish and finicky in the Winter, and they won’t chase bait. In fact, they want the bait right in front of their mouth during most of the Winter.

My favorite rod for Winter Crappie fishing is a 6 or 7 foot light to ultralight spinning rod with a good back, four pound ultra thin line and small tube jigs or ice fishing jigs in the 1/32 ounce range. Crappie prefer smaller baits in the Winter, even the slabs do! Make sure your rod is Graphite, you’ll need it to feel the soft bites of Crappie at this time of year.

As for terminal gear, I use 4 pound test and jigs in the 1/32 ounce range. If you prefer minnows, use the smaller #6 Tru Turn gold aberdeen hooks and the smallest minnows you can buy. Ice fishing jigs also work well, even on Southern lakes. You’ll catch more Crappie in the Winter with small line and small bait.

Don’t overdo your jigging during the Winter. Crappie probably won’t chase down your offering, so move it very little and make it easy for them. One successful tactic I routinely use is to just do nothing with my jig. Sometimes just holding it motionless is all it takes. If you must move it, move the line ever so slightly with your index finger and keep the rod still.

Aluminum boats can be damaged in different ways. Most of the time there appears leaks and corrosion. Leaks are the outcome of inappropriately mounted rivets and also wrongly sealed or a dented seal. The mordant attributes of water, particularly salt water, can cause the metal delicate, and will finally eat through the hull.

The initial measure in fixing an aluminum boat is to find out the complete degree of the damage. Even if you know the spot of the dent it will be a good idea for you to completely inspect the boat, both inside and outside. This will help you to find out any extra damage. If you have to check for water seepage then it can be done when are on the water. But remember to examine the outer shell of the boat as well.

You must keep in mind as you inspect the boat that some leaks will be too miniscule for you to see or will be hidden under the seam of the boat. Make sure not to begin repairing the boat until you are positive the problem has been properly recognized.

Next, make sure that all surfaces are properly prepared. They need to be dry and completely free of any residue from cleaners, solvents, oil, silicone grease, etc. Weak spots should be fully sanded and any friable metal removed, or the repair will be weak in the damaged area and likely give way again in the near future.

Guarantee that the work done is of best quality. If you plan to do the work yourself then be honest with regard to your skills and knowledge. You will have to completely understand the problem, and find a solution, and the equipments required before commencing.

If you hire a specialist, make sure to ask questions. Ask if they have worked with your kind of boat before. Contacting references may be wise to verify his or her experience.

Finally, make sure that the work is finished properly and completely. Fully inspect all repairs before putting the boat back together, obscuring the repaired area with carpets or other items, or putting it in the water. Do this especially if the repairs are below the water line. Observe the repaired areas frequently and carefully on the first use of the boat.

Done properly, aluminum boat repairs can add years to the life of your vessel. Improperly completed repairs can result in further damage, and even a serious incident while on the water. Make sure the work is done right the first time.

If you are new to the sport of angling, you need to know some of the basic rules. Be respectful of others around you when you anticipate in this sport, remember that what you do will have a direct impact on the others around you. Fishing has been a popular activity for man since the advent of recorded history. Technology may have improved the chance of catching more fish but many of the traditional rules still apply.

It is crucial to observe good angling habits as they are necessary to ensure the environment will be preserved for future generations. Have the decency to learn to leave the badly contaminated spots alone, and do to add to the existing damage. Do not upset the natural balance the ecosystem so do whatever you can to help maintain the environment so that they will be enjoyed by the future generations, it is good to help preserve the environment. This can be achieved simply by practicing good angling habits. Do not leave any trash behind when your fishing day has come to an end, always carry a bag to place it in. There are dumping stations provided use it. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out how this little act can go a long way in preserving the environment.

As you fish, always use the correct type of bait and fishing gear, remembering that particular areas only allow certain bait and gear. There are restrictions around the number and type of fish you can keep. Do not wait until you have arrived to check for these restrictions. For each destination you plan to visit, get to know the rules and restrictions. If your plans include the use of a boat, research to see what kinds of watercraft are allowed where you are going to fish.

Many places have some restrictions and it is very likely you would be prosecuted if you fish there in defiance of these restrictions. Some reasons include the protection of certain wildlife, the proper care of vegetation, and the safety of you and others who want to fish. Safety is the number one priority in any form of hunting excursions, so wear your life jacket and make absolutely sure that your passengers in your boat wear their life jackets too.

When removing bait, be very careful. Do not make the stupid mistake of fishing in unauthorized waterways. When you are making arrangements for this trip remember to pack necessary items like plenty of fresh water, and basic safety items such as maps, flashlights and cell-phones.

Fishing continues to be a favorite pastime amongst large numbers of people especially in America, Canada and the United Kingdom. By observing all the rules, you can ensure that fishing as an activity, pastime or sport will be a part of your grand children’s heritage. Strive to find ways to become better angler while taking care of the environment as well.

Inland sport fishing is gaining prominence as a top leisure activity in Tanzania tourism. In Tanzania’s national parks and wildlife reserves, fishing is forbidden. However, the rivers and freshwater lakes in Tanzania provide visitors with numerous sport fishing possibilities.

The rivers and lakes in Tanzania are inhabited by plenty of fish during the rainy season, making the period after the short and long rains the most suitable for taking a sports fishing safari. The long rains fall in April and May, while the short rains come between November and December. The Rufiji River, Mwanza, Musoma, and Lake Tanganyika are some of the best fishing spots in Tanzania.

Several tours and safari companies in Tanzania organize fishing safaris for sports fishing enthusiasts looking for rewarding fishing experiences in Tanzania. At the inland port towns of Mwanza and Musoma on the shores of Lake Victoria, you can also find many friendly boatmen who can allow you to accompany them on their daily fishing trips. Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa, is home to many tropical freshwater fish species, some of which are exported to aquariums all over the world.

Mwanza, the southern port of Lake Victoria, is a very popular fishing safari destination in Tanzania. The port is home to huge Nile Perch and Tilapia and it one of the best places to get started. The port city is also the cultural centre of Sukuma, the largest ethnic group in Tanzania.

Musoma, another popular fishing safari destination, is on the Eastern shores of Lake Victoria, near the border with Kenya. You can catch plenty of Nile perch (Sangara or Chengu in the local dialect) in Musoma. In this port town, you will also find lots of boats that take visitors across Lake Victoria-the world’s largest tropical lake and second largest freshwater lake by surface area. Lake Victoria has a 3440 km shoreline and hosts over 3000 islands, many of them inhabited.

Lake Tanganyika, the second largest freshwater lake in the world by volume after Lake Baikal, is also a popular fishing spot in Tanzania. The lake hosts over 350 fish species including the Nile Perch and the Goliath Tiger Fish. Lake Tanganyika stretches across Tanzania, Burundi, DRC, and Zambia, with Tanzania having the largest share. Among the over 2000 plant and animal species found in Lake Tanganyika, about 600 are unique and found nowhere else in the world.

Both salty and freshwater fishing opportunities exist on Rufiji River, which is the largest river in Tanzania. Freshwater fishing takes place in the size-able 21 lakes in the Rufiji floodplain area along River Rufiji and in hundreds of ponds and creeks. These lakes and creeks fill up during the annual floods and they yield excellent catches of fish. Salty water fishing is normally done near the Rufiji coast, where good conditions for prawn fishing exist on the sandbanks off the Rufiji Delta.

Another popular fishing activity among Tanzania visitors is fly fishing. The rivers and streams of Tanzania provide good spots for fly fishing.

Fishing is treated as a serious sport over and above it being a relaxing pastime. of course you have to have the correct support system in place. here are some points for you to consider. There are times when you will need to consider what kind of transportation you will require to get across the water. Though not among the most trusted water vehicles, the canoe used by American Indians is one of the oldest known water transport. Use a canoe to reach some undetected spots where fish could be hiding, but using a canoe could be dangerous if it is windy, as by nature canoes are unstable.

A small rowboat without a motor is considered the best kind of boat to use since you can stand up in it to cast. In case you are traveling far to do your fishing keeping a trolling motor makes sense. But when you are moving into big lakes or river choose boats with high sides to remain safe from large waves.

Fishing beside a lake requires special footwear. To do this most efficiently, take hip boots which can be rolled down conveniently, if you are not going to wade through the water. Wading across Streams can be done using hip length boots, though chest and waist waders are normally used. Buy chest or hip waders which are loose as they allow you more leg comfort.

Buy them either: Long or Short. The long style is designed for fishing from a boat or wading in shallow water. Wear short jacket while using chest waders; otherwise the bottom part of long jackets would dip in water. Choose a jacket with ample pockets to carry lure and other fishing accessories. Wearing a hat with a brim or visor is an excellent idea as you will often be looking at the water and will need to stop reflections with some kind of shade.

The avid angler has three stashes of lure and tackle-box containers: The first stash is for the home stockpile, the second and larger one for the boat, and a third stash is for the car. That way, you will always be covered in the event of a loss or other mishap. All supplies must be purchased in large quantities at the start of the season, so that you are fully prepared, even when you fish at night.

With the right fishing accessories and gear, you can turn your fishing experience into a better one. What can be more sensible than that? Being ready is one of the most critical aspects of fishing.
